Shared  Products Module

Sites that share the Product Module can be synchronized or updated across all related sites without needing to rebuild or publish each site individually. That means if you update products in one site this information will be updated in all the sites sharing the product module. Bulk actions (Publish, Unpublish, Delete, Synchronize and Rebuild) are also included in this behavior.

It is important to mention that the Catalog content is not shared among the sites even if they share Products and Libraries. That means that the Catalog Module will be different for each site. Another important thing to consider is that when you are doing a Retrieve from ERP or Synchronization from your ERP this will be done from the site you are running.  That means that the products retrieved may not be the same because branch plants may differ between all stores. If that is the case, it is better to run the Synchronize/ Retrieve from ERP on each site individually.

The Product module is related to several content types which must also be updated on each site, these are:

  • Classifications: If we create, delete or update a classification in one site this information should be available in the other shared sites.

  • Badges: the badge information under Product module management will be synchronized in all shared sites.
  • Attributes and Attribute Group: these sections keep their previous rules but if in one site we create or update one of them it will be included in all shared sites.
  • Matrix Image variations: To see the images related to each variation previously the Image content should be shared between all sites that shared Product Module.

These settings below must have the same value across all sites when sharing the Products module. Otherwise, the synchronization between the sites may not work as expected.

  • Activate Elastic and App Search auto-synchronization
  • Cross-reference types for searching
  • Use product descriptions from ERP
  • Allow purchasing in decimal quantities
